Visitor Traffic and Parking 2018
(PLEASE NOTE: THIS INFORMATION PERTAINS TO 2018. DETAILS FOR 2019 TO BE CONFIRMED.
If you’ve been to the Fair before, you’ll know that the village is closed to non-emergency traffic from 9am ‘til 5pm throughout the day, and access to car parks operates on a one-way system between these times-this is to keep congestion to a minimum and allow pedestrians to proceed in safety in the village during the day.
Entrance to the village and Fair Field is free; parking in a variety of different places costs £20 per car (£5 for motorcycles) to use the Disabled car park or the Main car parks at Holwell, Southcombe Hill and Dockwell, and £30 per coach for use of the Coach Park in the Village. A Park and Ride service is provided from the main car parks into the village (see map).
Designated Disabled Car Parking is adjacent to the Fair Field at Great Close. Watch for the Disabled (Blue + Wheelchair) Symbol on the Traffic Signs which will direct you to Great Close.
For those arriving at the Park and Ride by other means, there is a charge of £5 per person for use of the Park and Ride service.
This year we have extended the road closure up Widecombe Hill so that only coaches paying for use of the coach park will be allowed access via this route.
Mobility Aids at the Fair
Newton Abbot Community Transport will be at the Fair to provide a limited number of mobility aids for hire.
Please contact (01626) 335775 for further details. Advance booking is advised.
