Widecombe Fair painting reproduced with kind permission from artist Sandy Wager
The beautiful village of Widecombe-in-the-Moor lies between green fields and high, moorland hills in a sheltered valley on the East side of Dartmoor. Run entirely by volunteers to raise money for local good causes, as well as providing an opportunity for farmers to compare the size of their tractors, Widecombe Fair takes place on the second Tuesday of September each year and attracts visitors from far and wide.
Thanks to all our traders, crafters, caterers, competitors and volunteers who helped to make Widecombe Fair 2025 another great day. The weather at least gave us a few hours of respite before settling into a more autumnal phase, but these things would never detract from the entertainment!
We’re now in the early phase of organising this year’s event. Traders can submit their application for a pitch using our online form - see the Traders page for full details. Other details for the 2026 fair will follow as and when we have them.
