What, When and Where To

The beautiful village of Widecombe-in-the-Moor lies between green fields and high, moorland hills in a sheltered valley on the East side of Dartmoor. Run entirely by volunteers to raise money for local good causes, as well as providing an opportunity for farmers to compare the size of their tractors, Widecombe Fair takes place on the second Tuesday of September each year and attracts visitors from far and wide.

Cancellation of all Livestock classes

The Bluetongue virus is spreading at a phenomenal rate across Devon. As a result, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel all our sheep and cattle classes in order to help safeguard our local farming community and livestock.

However, all the horse and pony classes are running as usual and this year, we have the magnificent heavy horses. Added to this all the fun of terrier racing, bale tossing and even egg tossing! We will have a wealth of vintage cars and tractors, rural crafts and stalls, live music in several venues across the village all day…. and a fabulous beer tent! Lots to see and do, please come and join us.

Traders can submit their application for a pitch using our online form - see the Traders page for full details. The Produce & Handicraft schedule is also ready for you to start planning your masterpieces - head to the Produce & Handicraft page for full details. Agricultural entries are now closed but you can still view the schedule details on our Agricultural page.

Owners of vintage vehicles and machinery may submit an application to exhibit their items on our Vintage page.

Tickets for the 2026 fair are now on sale! Please see our Tickets page for further information and to place your order.
